"What we face may look insurmountable. But I learned something from all those years of training and competing. I learned something from all those sets and reps when I didn't think I could lift another ounce of weight. What I learned is that we are always stronger than we know."
-Arnold Schwarzenegger
I am 27 years old and I am a Wildland Firefighter with the US Forest Service. I graduated High school from Monte Vista in 2000. Went to college for many years not knowing what i wanted to do with my life so i studied everything that interested me (Astrophysics, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Chemistry, Fire Science, Criminal Justice, History) I knew none of those majors would get me what i truly seek except one. I seek adventure, life threatening danger and hard work that is in the outdoors. Firefighting with the Forest Service gives me what i crave.
My first hobby ever was working on cars and trucks. Its something i enjoy doing especially when i get compliments on the quality job i do. I am also a health freak, i love lifting weights in the gym. I've been doing it now for 7 years. I've gone from 140lbs to my current weight and i still plan on working out just not has hardcore as before.
I like being in the outdoors and hanging out with family and friends. I'm not into the drinking scene anymore but i do drink socially when i go to parties or hang out with friends at the bars. I like to watch movies especially action ones.
Now onto my Sik Vehicles!
The Jeep i have built since i was 16, i've dropped a 92 Mustang 5.0L engine in it with all the boltons, NP435 tranny with granny low 6.69:1 first gear, 1 piece axles in the rear. It has a total of 6 1/2 inches of lift with 35 inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. I just added new Besttop seats in my Jeep and i bought a Sirius satelite radio that i can switch between my cars.
The Mustang has underdrive pulleys, FMS headers, 3.73 Gears, BBK FPR Eibach 1 inch lowering springs, 98 Cobra rims and a BBK Cold Air Kit. I just installed a battery box in the trunk and a MSD6AL in its place in the engine compartment. I have an E303 cam for it that i haven't installed yet but i hope to install it sometime soon.
I got this on my 25th Bday, its a 1968 Mustang Fastback. This is what it looks right at the moment. Its a pretty solid car and i got it for a good price.
I've put in Martz front and rear suspension setup, coilovers, 4 link in the rear. Custom Subframe connectors, A Ford 9" with 3.89 gears, 35 spline axles and a detroit locker.
I'm going to put a TKO600 transmission in it and i have a 460 bored and stroked to a 532. Its got edelbrock heads and intake with a Ford cam that has a .588 intake and .614 exhaust. I'm going to put all MSD ignition equipment on the engine. The engine should produce 600+HP Exterior its going to look like a GT500 with the scopes on the side. My engine is going to stick 5 inches out of a stock hood so i am planning on getting a Cobra R hood built for it that has a 6 inch rise.
My Dad's Blown 98 Cobra
98 Cobra with a SHM fully built motor capable of handling 1200hp with Stage 2 heads, a Stage 2 intake with shortrunners and blower cams. Its got a P1SC Procharger on it making 13lbs of boost equalling 550rwhp. Right now we're just upgrading everything to get as much out of the car as possible. 31 spline axles, 4.30 gears, fully adjustable rear swaybar, battleboxes, the works. The Cobra is going to get a D1R Procharger and a XFI F.A.S.T. System. Maybe some long tube headers as well.
Best time so far is 12.02 at 118mph and thats with spin off the line and getting sideways at half track, this was done BEFORE we installed the 4.30 gears, axles, rear sway bar and Slicks and skinnies.
The best time i have gotten with it is 12.20 at 116mph.
If you want pictures or videos of runs let me know i got 3 zip disks full, from stock all the way to SHM motor.
You're steady, organizes, and determined to achieve your dreams.
You tend to play it conservative, going by the rules (at least the practical ones).
You'll likely reach the top. And when you do, you'll be honorable and responsible.
Focus on happiness. Don't let your goals distract you from fun!
Don't be too set in your ways, and you'll be more of a success than you ever dreamed of.
Those pictures of your baby's progress are astonishing! The lines are very clean and from the clear images, the fitting process appears to be excellent. The patience to nurse that 68 F/B from where she was, is a trbute to dedication and self-worth, you are to be commended. When you know you are doing something that will bring pleasure into the lives of people you may never meet, is a rare reward that you have earned.
She is beautiful. You also run a very clean shop, a big key to accomplishing your tremendous project, you have learned the basics well.
I'm sending the images to a couple of my friends that are not members here, but own/love mustang and will be very gald to see this baby.
I know there is a ways to go, but you have come so far that it doesn't really matter now, does it?
