I'm a Mustang enthusiast, first and foremost. Ask anyone who knows me, and they can attest to that...I'm pretty much known as "the Mustang guy" in my circle of friends. Ever since I started driving in 1994, Mustangs have been the only car I've owned. I started with a 1977 Mustang II Ghia, which I still actually own. It was my daily driver for 7 years until rust made it unworthy of continuous road duty. While I had that, I picked up a 1976 Cobra II that I wanted to turn into a street machine, but funds became limited, so that idea was scrapped. In 2001, I bought a 1999 Rio Red V6 coupe for daily use. It wasn't too bad...I put Bullitt wheels on it and a Mach 1 grille delete. Then in 2003, the power bug bit me. Originally I was intending to save up for a 2005 GT, but I couldn't wait. So I picked up a 2003 Sonic Blue GT...though it had to be exactly what I wanted. I knew I wanted Sonic Blue, and opted for the Premium package. The only options missing on the car are the Mach 1000 (I'm not that big on audio, so I don't care) and the automatic transmission. Once I bought that, my dad took the '99 coupe and drove that for a while. In 2005, he used it for a trade on his 2005 Explorer. I'm on here to show off my ride and further connect with the Mustang community. The legend lives!

The cold winter months really take their toll on a Mustang enthusiast. It's been a long winter so far, and it still has a little more to go...just over a month to be more specific.

Much like many Americans wait for football season, I await "driving" season. Granted, my car gets driven year round, but it isn't until the nicer weather breaks that I can truly enjoy the experience. Keeping it shiny, cruisin' with the windows open, taking in the air from the open road...these things just aren't quite as enjoyable (or possible) when you have daytime high temps in the mid 30s. I am not a cold weather person at all.

So once it's in the 60s, 70s, etc on a regular basis, I'll be able to take in the full experience. Hitting the road and cruisin', with nothing much else to worry about. I'm sure OPEC would love me. LOL. I can't wait for the tracks to open up...I'm really thinking of doing one of the "Friday at the Track" events out at Summit Point.

I really need to live in a warmer climate. LOL.

Can I get an AMEN! And hey, OPEC doesn't love you anywhere near as much as they love me! Remember, my DD is and F-150 SCab 4x4!

tell me about it, we had a freak winter storm in kentucky and because i needed an alternator in my truck i got caught out in the stang.  eventually i actually decided that rather than wreck it and then call a tow truck, call them now and let them drag it home - no kidding, i had it towed home because i couldn't leave it anywhere downtown and i couldn't get over the hill from downtown home - thank you AAA and yeah, i fixed the truck today so no more rain/snow for the stang for me, not until that driving season you mention here, me too!

I could not agree with you more. I live in Chicago and just purchased my first Mustang. I have yet to experience the joy of cruising with my windows down and listening to the sound of my GT in the wind. It is only a dream now but soon it will be a reality. I hope it is soon at least.
