VMP Tuning has been in business since 1999, when the owner, Justin Starkey, purchased his first Mustang. VMP Tuning’s chief focus is tuning, primarily on Mustangs and Fords. They have an in-house mobile dyno available for tuning. Additionally, VMP Tuning travels to national events with the mobile dyno.
The dyno is an industry standard Dynojet 224x. It is equipped with dual widebands.
VMP Tuning uses SCT’s software for their tuning needs. SCT is the only comprehensive tuning tool on the market. VMP Tuning is extremely well-versed with both mail order and dyno tuning. VMP Tuning is currently one of the top five SCT dealers in the nation.
VMP Tuning also offers after-market parts for Mustangs and Fords. They offer products ranging from appearance accessories, such as fog lights, to engine and drivetrain parts, to performances products, such as CAIs and superchargers.
VMP Tuning is a prominent component of the V6 Mustang world. Their 2000 V6 Mustang was the first and only V6 Mustang to run 10s with the stock 3.8L block. The 2000 Mustang has twin turbos, and makes 450rwhp and 475rwtq with 17psi. Additionally, their 2006 V6 Mustang makes 350rwhp and 346rwtq with a Vortech supercharger at 13psi.
Additionally, VMP Tuning is making a name for themselves in the V8 world as well. They have done extensive tuning on Mustang GTs, Cobras, and Lightnings. Additionally, they have just started working on the Shelby GT500, and have experienced astounding results.
