ABOUT ME
In 2005 when the new S-197 Mustang came out I fell for it real hard... In early April of 2005 I walked into Broadway Motors, the Ford dealership in Oakland, CA, and met with Larry Smith, Larry would end up selling me my first Mustang. We talked and looked at several '05 Mustangs, but I was just "looking". Larry asked me, "What do you want to do with the car?" and I replied, "drive fast" because that's really what I wanted to do with it; Larry suggested that I might want to wait for the Cobra edition that will probably come out in 2006. He offered a test drive in a GT but I declined.
In late April of '05 the May edition of Motor Trend came out with a red/white striped GT500 on the front cover and a full spread story inside, I believe it was the same GT500 that was at the 2005 International Auto Show in New York. That article sold me, two days after reading it I was in front of Larry showing him the article.
So I waited, and waited, and called Larry, and waited, then in April of 2006 Ford released the specs on the GT500 to the dealers; I checked in with Larry and put a deposit on a GT500. In June '06 Ford started to take dealer orders on the GT500 and I put mine in (black coupe with tungsten side stripes, top stripes deleated, upgrade interior option and Shaker 500 stereo) and waited...
I took delivery of my 2007 GT500 on August 23, I believe it rolled off the assembly line on August 8, 2006. I never took a test drive in a Mustang, the day I climbed behind the wheel of my GT500 was the first time I drove one. To date (4-24-2007) I've put 6,025 miles on it, increased the horsepower to 641 at the flywheel, 558 at the rear wheels, driven it over 160 mph and overall had a lot of fun; the car is more than I expected and I look forward to driving it for many years to come.
