So ever since I have installed my JLT true cold air intake( which was about 3 months ago ) my check engine light has been turning on and off, more On then Off. It's now been about 4 days and it hasn't turned off all though today I was driving home from work I noticed it was flashing.  Does anyone have any clue as to what could possibly be going on/ or has this happened to anyone else out there?  The car is an 04 and only has 34000 mi.  Alex

Not sure what the problem is here, but I'll share this experience with you. I was going to a car show in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and my engine lite came on. Car, Cobra, had about 4k miles so, enging lite was never expected, never is, is it. So, my bud and I did exactly waht the lite said, we checked the engine, oil, all fluids and found no problem. Got back in the car and the lite was off, then down the road it would come on for awhile and go off. Did this for the three days I was gone.

While at the show, an astute mustanger said, dic-connect the battery cable, wait about a minute, then re-connect. If its a glitch, the lite will stay off. The lite stayed off, unti about 60 miles outside of Tulsa. Took in for the gurus to check out, (diagnostics cost about $60.00 buck a shot.) Result was, the air filter, needed to be changed and that was it.

This happend again about a year later. I did the batt thing, lite would go off and then back on. I changed the filter and have had no problems. You see, some of the sensors are very sensitive (good revenue generator for the dealr also) so, do the batt thing before you go to the dealer and if it stays off, you are likely ok as the system will re-set, re evaluate and so forth. You may have to re-set the radion, clock bit that is easy. The new mod may have caused one of those sensors to burp and nothing else is wrong. Otherwise, go see a pro, don't take a chance on your pony's future.

Good luck

You'll need to pull a code to get anything specific because it could be anthing really.  I assume you've tried going back to stock intake and the problem goes away?

Check to make sure the filter is on tight and no holes or mangled pleats.  Check that MAF is on good.
