Blog Entry: Back in January '09, I wrecked my GT.  My poor, poor GT.  It was bad...nearly totaled simply due to the cost of the repairs vs the insurance company's value of the car.  The actual damage wasn't too horribly bad, but certainly not a pleasing site regardless.  The short of it is that I was out on the highway, doing about 60-65, I shifted, and something locked up.  I don't know what...either the tranny or the rear.  The rear end spun out from behind, slammed into a retaining wall pretty hard, and just screwed things up.  The rear axle shifted about 4" over, the passenger side quarter was crunched up, both bumpers got screwed up...upon closer inspection at the shop, there were only about 2 panels that wouldn't have needed any kind of repair.  I was asked if I'd like to pay the extra just to have the whole car painted and I figured why not.I'm also having the Saleen side skirts finally put on...the ones I've had for 6 months now.  Other little things are getting taken care of while it's there, and since it's been there I've been making a list of things to do.  I'm replacing the exhaust tips since one got a little scraped up from the incident, I want to clean the insides of the other 2 wheels that aren't getting replaced, I still need to do the rear brake pads, I'll be getting new tires after I get the car back...and I've ordered a new stereo for it.  I have the Kenwood DDX512 in there now; I've decided to go with Kenwood's 2009 model, the DNX6140, which has the Navigation and Bluetooth built into the head unit.  Right now I have a separate module for the Bluetooth and would have to pay a small fortune to get the navigation module.I really can't wait to get this car back.  So anxious...it's been 2 and a half months now, but they're getting it done right.  Just in time for the cruisin' weather!
