Title: Working Perks and Pain
Category: bored
Blog Entry: Working perks and pain... While I am glad I'm getting a good reputation in the school districts for subbing and getting more consistent work, I have noticed it's taking it's toll on my body and mind. Last week I was fortunate enough to get four sub jobs out of five days. I first was sent to a middle school I'd subbed at before and knew the procedures and such. It went pretty uneventfully. Though the teacher did leave out some paper mache and it got moldy over the weekend and the kids didn't want to touch it, nor did I but I had to. Then the sink got clogged with the smelliness. Anyways. I look forward to going back there in a few weeks. Two of those days involved going back high school. It was art at least. The first school had faculty and students who couldn't tell if I was a student or staff. That was annoying. The kids were decent, though they tested my patience. The next school was better, the kids were courteous and overall compliant. But no less tiring. Where I was going with this post was my body's condition. I had what felt like shin splints for weds, Thurs, Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, I was getting up out of my chair and my right knee gave out on me completely. I fell to the floor in shock. I think it was from the standing and putting weight too much to one side. My mind and coherent thought abilities deteriorated as the week went on. I couldn't catch up on my sleep till today. Starting tomorrow I have three sub jobs. I'm trying to pace myself so I don't get sick or go insane. I'm off Wednesday and Friday. It's shaping up to be a good month for pay and number of sub jobs.PS- I'm not trying to sound like I'm whining just wanted to blog this experience.
