ABOUT ME
I've been a Mustang guy since I was old enough to know about Mustangs...and I've had (lemme see...)a 66 Coupe, 70 Boss (for a month), 70 Mach1 (for a month), 66 GT 2+2, another 66 2+2 (that eventually had a built 351C), 84 EXP Turbo (how did that sneak in?),89 LX 5.0, 2000 GT 'vert
I'm also into, well other big metal things, like warbirds (that explains my custom plate SLVR P51) and steam locomotives...and Disneyland (although that's really not a big metal thing :D)...
Been there, seen it, Baaad to da bone. It ain't fair. Guy owns a North American P51 D and a Ford P51 A mustang. I work hard I go to church (occasionally), why can't I have ALL the cool stuff. Just kiddin. I'm pleased with my progress. Besides I couldn't afford the fuel or insurance for a P51. P51
been goin purty good. Got the blower installed, whupped the wifes vette (3 outta 4), saw the GML 2007 (the biggest collection of P51's since WWII), and ain't died yet. All in all I'm pleased. I'll check out the site but you may also wanna see mustangsmustangs.com , it's mustangs and P51's together. Also check out GML2007.com it's the site for the airshow I just went to. Keep the shiny side up. P51 ps there were only 77 P51's due to a wheather front blocking The West coast I imagine.
Hay Unk ya still alive? went to the "Final Roundup" The GML 2007. It was better than awlsome. They sed there were 107 mustangs there. That's roughly 1/2 of the surviving ones in the world. I didn't git my pic as there were 8 or 10 C's but from the web sites I checked later there appear to be no B's in service. Whata shame. Also I got a brochure from Rolls and the Allison division and they listed 8 different acft all models thru the H (including the A-36 and F-82) and their description of the B was intregal supercharger. The Rumble was awlsome but the real grabber was the F-22 and the B-2, just plain Spooky, the stuff of Sci-fi abduction stories. Glad they're on our side. Have a Booty-full weekend. P51 B
Hay Blacksheep ain't heard from ya in a while. Gonna race my wifes Vette this Fri. at the local 1/4 and the 27th-30th is the largest Gathering of P51's since WWII about 30 miles south of me & I'll be there. I would kill everyone to get a pic beside a Real P51 B. Have a goodun P51B GT
Hay Unc I just went to the Air Force Museum a couple weeks bac and saw a Packard V-12 that was internally supercharged in the Mustang display & it had a little explanation something to the fact that they were liscensed to build a Merlin derivative Blah blah...... Don't know if this settles or clarifies but it's a historical tidbit. What I called about was I'm getting to fly on a B-24A tomorrow. It's the only one flying and there are only 2 Libs flying in the world today. I helped out the crew chief while they were at my airport so they're lettin me hop with 'em when they transition to another (near-by) airport for an Airshow. Pretty cool eh? Later P51
