Three quick ways to lose first place :(
Actually this all starts with the fact that I had my street tune on the car with lower rev limits (not to mention A/F etc.) grrrr!
Here's the whole (well, edited) race.
Standing start
ECR - NASA TX AI/CMC Race Oct 2008
I know this is a Mustang site but you gotta love that 1969 Camaro next to me. It has been a race car since 1970.
Have Mustang, Must Pass
Had several great duels with this Camaro. The driver is a super guy and I learned a lot from him, but my pony just gotta lead :)
In too HOT!
Apparently taking off the brake ducts was not so wise. I wound up finding the limit of the brakes on this bungled pass. The other driver was very alert and cool about it.
Chasing a vette @ MSR-Houston
Had him under braking but just could not overcome the 200hp difference - but I tried ;)
Warming up the tires at MSR
Lap 1 @ MSR - light snack...the mini's :)
JK, actually I know two of these guys pretty well and they are great drivers and a lot of fun to be around.
Lap 2 @ MSR - On to the 'Vettes
Before you ask, I waved off the pass early in the video because I got black flagged for passing their earlier..turns out the grid control was mistaken and they let me pass there later.
Ohh...and yes, the wipers do slow you down, so make sure you don't hit them like I did :)
Lap 3 @ MSR - Have Mustang, Will Pass :)
Tires were at temp by this point; just trying to keep a nice pace...not overdoing it.
Laps 4 and 5 (Checkered Flag)
Not much of interest until the end when I catch up to my buddy in his Porche. Not the cleanest laps but its fun anyway.
