It's almost time!!!
DATE: Mar 12 2007, 1:41 am / MOOD: Happy

Well, it looks like winter is on its way out the door!  I had the Saleen out once last week, and can't wait to do it again!  The complete IRS, exhaust and brake system from my decommissioned 1999 SVT Cobra is going into the 1988 Saleen on 3/13.  It's not the first Fox Body IRS conversion ever, but I'm ecstatic none the less.  I can’t wait to try the corners once it's in! Looks like it's going to be a great season.  Already have the MCCPA luncheon on 3/25 to talk about the upcoming season.  As always, CJ Pony Parts has a ton of stuff lined up.  The Carlisle show circuit is a go, and the Mach1 Registry has some awesome cruises on the books.  I was supposed to hit VIR a couple times this year with the SCMC crew, but I may not be ready in time.Hope to run into some of you all this season.  Be safe and have fun!

Rim showdown
DATE: Feb 22 2007, 12:07 pm / MOOD: Happy

Alright folks, I need your opinions for rim selection on my 1988 Saleen.  I have three sets of rims and want to narrow my choices down to two.  One for everday use and one for track use.  My top two choices are the 2001 Bullitts (for show) and the 1999 Cobras (for go).  FWIW, I did not put the center caps on for the pictures.  What do you think?  Vote in my poll http://www.mymustangsite.com/poll/result/280/

Cobra tear down
DATE: Feb 12 2007, 4:18 am / MOOD: Dont know

In a matter of 5 hours, the 99 SVT Cobra was almost completely broken down.  The only remaining items to pull are the dash pad, driveshaft, IRS, x-pipe & catbacks, wheels and brakes.  A good majority of the vehicle has been tagged for it's new owners.  There are still some nice items left if you are in the market for something ( TKO600 anyone? ).

Grill emblem poll finished
DATE: Dec 22 2006, 1:28 am / MOOD: Other

The verdict is in.  The majority of people on numerous forums felt the GT500 snake was just too large for the 99-04 grill area.  I will be staying with 94-98 snake.  If you came by to see the pics, sorry.  If you are thinking about making a GT500 grill emblem, drop me a line and I'll send you a few pics so you can check it out.

Plans for the winter...
DATE: Dec 10 2006, 1:37 am / MOOD: Happy

Now that my Cobra is tucked away, I can finally start some projects I have been putting off.  Much to my wife's dismay, it is not home improvements.1.  While the entire engine bay was cleaned and painted two months ago during the engine swap, I feel it could show better with a little dressing.  I would like to toss the cast valve covers on the Mach motor for the 99 SVT type I had before.  A custom built oil separator needs to be fabbed up.  A billet radiator cover is waiting to go on as well.  I am contemplating replacing the JLT intake for one that will accommodate a strut tower brace.  I will also start assembling my ported/polished Cobra intake manifold to replace the stock Mach 1 manifold once my warranty runs out.2.  The head unit mounting needs to be stiffened up a bit.  With the total chassis switched over to poly bushings and mounts, I am getting more vibration and hence some cd skippage.3.  All the JL Audio gear needs to be mounted in a "wow" like enclosure.  I currently have a free floating sub box with my W7.  It slides all over the place!  My JL amps are surface mounted on the side trunk walls.  It looks good, but I want something that pops when the trunk lid goes up.That ought to keep me busy for a while!

Put away my Cobra for the winter
DATE: Dec 08 2006, 12:50 am / MOOD: Disapointed

Alas, the weather her in PA is getting colder, and the breif flurry yesterday was the final sign.  I have prepared and stored my baby for the winter.

Now I get the shear pleasure of tooling around in my 97 Neon SOHC 4 banger.  I hope winter is short around here.
