$250.00 just to bore the block sounds high to me but I'm from the midwest. Most shops around here charge around $100.00 to bore a block. Do some research on shops in your area and make sure they put out good quality work. Go to some local tracks and talk to racers and find out who did their machine work. Dont be affraid to ask them questions about their combos. The dumbest question is the one you didn't ask. Do your homework and plan your build-up so you can make good choices when it comes time.
