That is a bad arse car. Jon jr can realy drive it. Jon sr did one heck of a job getting that thing together. JJ posts up over on turboford alot. And in a related venue, I had to change out a leaking injector today. Did not have to pull the upper intake. Thankfully i have several spare injectors laying around. Now I just need to install the new turbo and ported E-6....

If possible get the VAM and puter from a 87/88 turbo coupe (LA3/LB3). You "can" put the turbo on the n/a car and go for now. You would have to :
1. Drill a hole in either the block or pan fopr the oil return line.
2. Fab an oil feed line for the turbo.
3 Get a Gillis Boost control valve and set it NO HIGHER than 6 or 8 pounds boost.
4 Install an AFPR.
Head on over to www.turboford.net
There are a heck of a lot of guys over there with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the turbo 2.3's...

VAM= Vane Air Meter. and it is 2.3t specific. You will want the VAM out of either a 87/88 TC or 86 SVO (it is the large VAM) also depending on which year SVO motor you have, you will want an "E-6" exhaust manifold, and the 36# injectors (commonly called "brown tops"). to do the wiring changes the only plug yo uneed to find will be for the VAM, the rest is VERY EASY if the car is a 87-89 mustang, later years require a tad bit more work..

Try turboford,, the harness is found on any turbo ford car. The large VAM is found on 87/88 turbocoupes and 85/86 SVO's. As for the puter,, like I said the best and easiest is from an 87/88 turbo coupe..
