The only time you should have a problem is if you're planning on putting a 429 in it. Then you may have to cut the shock towers some.

if you are going to get the block bored out then you might want to have it checked to make sure its good and will last...they can clean it and test it dunno what kinda price that would be but you should try to get as much info on the shop as u can to find out if they do a good job before you go through with that shop...and the bore just includes that nothing else, not reassembly or anything so make sure u are prepared to take on that challenge

$250.00 just to bore the block sounds high to me but I'm from the midwest. Most shops around here charge around $100.00 to bore a block. Do some research on shops in your area and make sure they put out good quality work. Go to some local tracks and talk to racers and find out who did their machine work. Dont be affraid to ask them questions about their combos. The dumbest question is the one you didn't ask. Do your homework and plan your build-up so you can make good choices when it comes time.

Speaking from experience here, the 71 to 73 Mustangs came with a 429 optional, no shock tower cutting necessary. You could drop one of the FRPP 514 crate motors in with no problem,

Even the Ford FE series big block engin fits in the bay as I worked on one some years back that had a 427 side oiler engine in it and ran like a scalded ape.

I know also because I own a pair of 73 Mach I's, a 351 2bbl and a 351 Cobra Jet.

well to tell u the truth, any 'Stang from '71 - '73 are the same platform to build off of......shoot if u wanted to, the car is big enough to fit a Boss 429 "Shotgun" street engine under the hood with very little problem, and if u wanted to modify it with like a power adder, i suggest u go with a 76mm turbo that why u dont rob power away from the crank with a supercharger or blower
