logically you should be able to replace ur engine with any other engine...remember that the bigger you go there might be clearance problems but logically any v8 from that yr should bolt up fairly seemlessly to your ride unless its not a v8 then youll hafta do engine mounts and such

Yea more then likely if you have to do anything it would be motor mounts. Also if your increasing your engine size, say from a 6 cylinder to a 8 cylinder its possible that you may have to replace the K-member, so that might be something to look into. But more then likely just the motor mounts if any modification would need to be required.

Probably the biggest you be able to go is the 351. But you could stroke both the 302 or the 351 and get alot of power out of both of the them.

429/460 will also fit as will the 351 cleveland. Stroking a motor consists of notching the block and enlarging the cylinders to fit an aftermarket rotating assembly with a longer stroke which equals more cubic inches. The advantage of a stroker is to gain more power and torque out of a motor while retaining the same external dimensions of the orriginal motor. My vote would be the stroker if money permits. Or the 351 windsor is a good choice and could be built with less cash outlay than the machine work and stroker assembly.

the stroker will probably cost more initially than a 351, the problem really lies in finding a good block that doesnt need machine work. Even if you find a 351 for a good price that doesnt guarantee that it will last for long, it doesnt guarantee it wont either its a gamble but a stroker you should be able to get some kinda of warantee with like for a breakin period or soemthing...just need to look around and see what all is out there the options are endless its a money matter really

I think I'm going to use my stock 302 and bore and stroke it. I called a auto machine shop here in vegas and they said it would be $250.00 to bore out the block is that a good price?
