Default Transmission Treatment do or don't

I have a 65 coupe with auto transmission. He drives great on open road but low gears id doesnt like to shift out of. Some mentioned I may have a vac line leak but I do not see anytjing obvious. Do you think that that Slick 50 automatic transmission treatment would be worth adding? It says it Improves shifting, reduces heat, reduces leaks, and maintains viscosity.

also what do you think it would cost to have the vac line tested?

i got a 00 hyundai elantra with a automatic. and the tranny shifted horrible and slipped alot. i put the lucas tranny stuff in there, for about 3 days it shifted harder then hell, then it stopped shifting and the veh speed sensor was showing as bad ( thats why the car wouldnt shift...) then it started shifting again on its own, the check engine light shut off and now like a month later the tranny seems fine..... a tad confusing i dont know what happend, but im not going to complain. and i still dont know why the tranny was acting all wierd on a car with only 60,000 miles anyway. I think the lucas clogged the speed sensor, but helped the slipping, and then the clog in the speed sensor went away.... but really who knows.

I would have the vac lines checked out. Shouldn't really cost that much. Also maybe have a dirty or clogged filter. If the fluid is a real dark color you need to change that also.

change the fluid and filter// before doing so, smell the dipstick for a burnt smell and look for black specs. Find any irregular things in the fluid and thats a hint that something serious is going wrong in the trans

check the vacuume module at the trans end of the vac line // most of the time your better off replacing it

check all your vac lines in the engine bay, low vac can cause lazy shifting among other things

never add any fluid additive to an auto trans, does the factory use additives?

good luck ! If issues continue, then consider having a qualified shop look at your trans ! Rep is everything for trans shops, so ask around !
