Default upgrade

I have a 1970 coupe and i have a stock trashed 8inch rearend does anyone have any ideas on where i could get a 9inch with some good gearing. I don't want to spend a fortune on a rearend so if i could get some help that would be great

Yea make sure you get a new set of gears and you would probably want to get a new posi unit or LSD unit also.

yeah the LSD or either Grand Marquis or Crown Vics had 9 inch i believe.
A grenada would be a direct swap, but idk if it was 9 inch. i DO know most were disk brakes so thats a perk, plus the sway bars on em were 1 inch so thats another easy cheap upgrade.

The 8 inch is not a bad rear end at all. Not as strong as a 9 but definately not weak.

get a 9" and 3.25:1 gears if you have an auto, get the traction lock with it so you don't end up redoing the rear end (like i am).
you can contact Bill Thomas Enterprises out of San Bernandino, Ca if you have any questions he will be able to help you out a lot.
