Default Engine Swap - 250 for 302

I've got a 70 coupe with a factory 250. I'm going to put a 302 in it.

I've been told that you need the 5 stud wheel suspension which I have but what about a cross member?

I'm planning on keeping my 3 speed manual, any issues with hooking that up?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Tim,

Crossmember swaps aren't necessary on early cars. Your trans should be a cast iron case side linkage 3speed. It should work fine.

Default Engine Swap and Marti Auto Works.

Thank you. Waiting for the intake manifold to arrive.

Originally I was going to put a 2 barrel and adapter on the 250 but I just decided to go the v8 eight route.

It was a tough decision. For the older mustangs there's a place here in AZ Marti Auto Works that has the exclusive rights to the old Ford records. Through them I found that my Mustang was one of 1146 with that paint code for the year. They are authorized and were able to reproduce the window sticker, door plate and tell you exactly when the car was scheduled to be produced. Mine was a day past its scheduled.

So to keep it all original or not was hard to choose. I could have had the old 250 replaced with are built, but would that be enough "power" for me? In the end, I decided 'nope'.

I will keep the old 250 and maybe eventually have it rebuilt and stored a way, in case I ever want to put it back t original.

Thats actually pretty funny becuase i also have a 70 coupe with the original 250 in it and i have planned on putting a 351 in, though the 250 you can pump some power out of it. I wanna see some pictures of it.
