where are the torque boxes located? the car already has sub frame connectors and upper and lower control arms. So maybe the guy who owned it before me did the job and how would i be able to tell? if not what kind of a job is the torque box reinforcements? whats involed and is it necessary?

Sounds like the previous owner took care of any suspension problems you will face (unless this is to be an all out drag car). Looks like you have a great foundation for your swap. I added a strut tower brace and with all the mods I have the car handles and launches great.

great thanks for all the help I appreciate it...Besides doing a tune up is there anything you think i should do to the car before getting it back on the road since its been sitting off the road for about 3 years. also what do you no about doing a 5 lug conversion. whats involved and is it a hard job?

I just recently did a 5 lug swap on mine. Not a difficult job, if you gather all the parts you need before hand. The job is fairly simple. A lot depends on which way you want to go with it. I opted for the easy way, for now, and just changed the axles, drums and rotors. It was just the first step on my way to total 5 lug, 4 wheel disc brakes. the torque boxs are where the control arms bolt up to the car....the plates that are welded to the car/frame tend to crack over time. due to all of the torque and abuse, (possible bad bushings on the control arms will tend to accelerate the deterioration) the welds will start to crack.....
