Default brake help for my rear

hi all, i'm thinking of swapping to rear disc brakes. i don't have a lotta cash and i've looked at some kits. i was wondering if anyone has used the caddilac calipers, turbo t-bird rotors, and steeltech brackets? it seems the least expensive, since i can keep my wheels and tires, and the total cost is around $300

Well unfortunately I have little knowledge about that particular setup, but I can say that a Cobra conversion kit is "by far" one of the best ways to go.

After looking at them they don't seem bad, however they're not going to be that much of an improvement as the kit for $300 doesn't have the parking break, and you'd need to buy the kit for $400, which is approx 1/2 the cost of a Cobra Kit, and that's just making the rear like a stock Mustang. I'd say save up and upgrade the whole thing to a larger diameter brake, trust me on this, larger diameter is the way to, there is just so much more control of the car when breaking. I went with a Cobra kit, then added in Drilled/Slotted rotors for both visual, and the extra braking performance.

This one is up to you, it doesn't seem like a bad kit, but upon further reading, isn't as cheap as it sounds.

Default thanks

HEY J, thanks for looking at that . i was only going to buy the $95 brackets and go to autozone for the rest. $63 each caliper,$38 EACH ROTOR. YES THE TURBO ROTORS ARE STOCK SIZE BUT WITH THESE BRACKETS , LATER I CAN UPGRADE TO FIVE LUG ROTORS FROM A LINCOLN I THINK THEY ARE 11.SOMETHING INCHES. HEY THANKS AGAIN..

Wish you the best of luck, and keep us up to date. I found this kit for you, it's both a Cobra kit, and a 4 lug to 5 lug conversion, and comes with new everything, a great buy if you ask me. Not sure if it's in your price range, but due to the fact you're already looking at spending a nice sum of cash, and that's just to do the rear, not to mention that you may want to change out in the future, this kit would get you everything (minus the 5 lug rims of course). Just throwing this one out there for you.

Default e brake help

i have a 94 mustang, and my e brake does not lock up the tires like I would like. Is there any way to adjust the cable to where it locks up the tires completley so I can drift or rost my tires easier?

Sorry, this isn't F&F here, the stock e-brake, and just the brakes themselves are not sufficient enough to totally lock up the wheels and perform a "massive" and dangerous drift. You need 13" front and rear brakes with a modified e brake to perform such stunts.

It's a Mustang (rear wheel drive)... how do you figure a stronger E-brake is going to help you "roast your tires"? And I'm not into drifting, but again... RWD. Kids in Civics (FWD) use E-brakes to "drift" and do burnouts. RWD cars use power (eg: the gas pedal, not the E-brake) to drift, and a line-lock to assist in burnouts.

Not trying to bag on you here, but if you don't even know which wheels are powering your car, I REALLY doubt you have any business trying to "drift". Especially since (just a guess here), your track of choice is probably whatever public street you happen to be on at the time. All you're going to do is screw up your car, hurt yourself, or worse yet, hurt someone else.
