Default kirban adj fpr GOOD BRAND?

I gonna need a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and i thinking bout buying this one from ebay, It mounts to the stock fuel rail. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this brand? I have also read that some adjustable fuel pressure regulators when changing fuel pressure u have to take off manifold. I dont really believe this. I would think you would be able to adjust it and take off the manifold every time it would be too much of a hassle.

I have a Kirbane and will be installing it next week, but I can't offer any direct experiance as of now. Now I do know people on another site that use them religiously, and they love them.

On my 95, to gain access you have to remove the upper intake (took me all of 2 hours to do that, and that was including spending a butt load of that time finding the right socket size, and taking every precaution when removing my dress ups and chrome accents under the hood. Once I got those out the way I could work at ease.

I think, key word there, think that foxbodies also require you to remove the upper intake, but I may be wrong, it's been a while since I've seen a foxbody engine pic. However, you can easily tell how easy it will be to gain access to it, just look on your fuel rails, and follow it along on the passenger side till you see the regulator, you can't miss it as it mounts right onto the fuel rail.

Note of importance, don't forget to depressurize the fuel system before working on any fuel component. Again, not sure about the foxbody, but on my 95 there is a switch located on the drivers side in the trunk, behind the carper that has a red button on it, I had to disconnect that switch, then get inside the car and turn it over a few times to relieve the pressure.

i don't wanna have to remove my intake to adjust the fuel pressure. This wouldn't be good if i had it on the dyno and for him to up the fuel pressure i had to take off the top intake every time that would just get annoying and it would take too long to tune it. Not ideal at all. I was wondering if there was a adjustable fuel pressure regulator that works with the stock fuel rails? That could be mounted on the fender or firewall for quick easy adjustment? But i have read that those type are junk if your just using the stock fuel rails. I have also heard that they don't work with the stock fuel rails and need aftermarket fuel rails for a fender mount adj fpr.

From what I see it shouldn't matter what fuel rails you use, they still mount in the same way. You can probably get to the regulator with a screw driver to perform the needed adjustments, however to install the upper intake has to come off. Again, it's not hard what so ever to do, took me less than 2 hours to take it off as I stated earlier.

I had one on the stock fuel rail worked great. Once its mounted you can adjust if my loosing the nut and turning the head with an allen wrench, pull your vaccum line off when adjusting it. Its easy to get to once its on the car. Like stated before to take the pressure out of the rails before you take the old one off, theres a schrader valve on the passenger side by the alternator, looks like a valve stem with a cap on it, push that in you should get some gas that comes out, but not alot. BTW I'm new here, whats up guys!?

The instructions for the kirban adjustable regulator says the fuel pressure needs to be 43psi, but if im not mistaken i think its suppose to be 32psi at idle and close to 40 at wot. My motor isnt stock anymore but its running too rich.

stock psi is around 37-39psi at idle. Depending on your mods you might want a tune and a chip. For example on my old 347 stroker I left the fp set at 39psi, but the tuner adjusted the A/F ratio through the ECU.

ya right now its just running way to rich and its at 40psi at start up. I think its cause that when u re stab the distributor and turn it with the key on it kicks the fuel pump on every time and most of the time it didnt start untill i got it just right. So im gonna turn the fuel pressure way down for now and turn it up later. Ya eventually im gonna have a sct chip put in it which i will have 3 different tunes these foxs are not cheap to tune at all

Yeah all depends on how you want to do it. I had mine professionally tuned for 500 bucks. Thats up to 3hrs worth of tuning and the chip.
