Default convertible replacement

do you guys know how hard it is to replace my top by myself. instead of going to an uhpolster shop.

Unless you have the experience and the tools, it will end up looking like crap. There are few things that I wouldn't consider doing on my car, but the top is one of them.

thanks for the reply but i have had the top of before wasnt that hard to put back on just curious how bad it would be to do a new one

Contact Mustangs Unlimited or 5.0 resto. They have a manual as well as a video on how to do it. I did mine using this manual. I suggest that when you do it, first have plenty of time. Second do it on a sunny day, that way you can let the top sit in the sun for several hours. This will allow the top to stretch and be easier to install. Third, get new cables and tacking strips. The cables are likely stretched and if not replaced will not keep the top tight to the sides of the frames. And the tacking strips that are on the car now will likely be damaged when you remove the old top. The manual aslo tells you how to adjust the top frame and align it correcty as well as adjusting and aligning the windows. It is very useful. It also has an electrical section in it.
