Default knocking sound

hi, my 93 lx is got this knock now. when i pull out of my driveway[in reverse] than put it in first, as i pull foward i hear a loud knock from the drivers side rear.what should i check? i heard that the torque boxes are a common problem. anyone had this problem???

I had the same thing a couple of months back. It turned out to be the upper control arms on the rear end. Those factory bushing wore out. Replaced them and the sound was gone. Not real hard to do but, be sure and get the installation kit as well. Usually the bolts are seized and you will tear them up removing them. The installation kit is available through Mustangs Unlimited or 5.0 resto. They run around 21.00. Includes all the nuts and bolts for the install. If you do this, be sure and coat the new bolts with anti-seize. This will keep the same thing from happining in the furure.
