New Site Features (laundry list)

I was talking with Chris about some new features that would be nice to add to the site and increase the functionality.

SMS - to send messages to friends cell phones, perhaps this would only be limited to Gold members to provide additional value for their sponsorship

business opportunities - a classifieds marketplace where entrepreneurs would be able to offer companies, websites, income producing property, etc. for sale, this would be moderated since we would not want a dishonest person to promote chain letters and ponzi schemes, we would have to charge for this to avoid conflicts of interest with our sponsors

mobile version of site - a fast loading version of MMS that our users can download to their hand held devices and phones

We also talked about a dating section, but neither one of us can figure out how to prevent shady types from unwelcome participation.

Any thoughts?

I like all the ideas, except I don't like the dating idea of it. To me, it takes away from the actual point of the site (MUSTANGS!) and people can use other networking and social sites for that if they wish. I, and I know other females, and probably males too, have received some pretty creepy messages from some people on this site. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback, no dating then. I agree with you that there are lots of other places people can go. In my original post, I also forgot to mention the idea of a job board. MMS stangers who work as consultants / service providers would be able to offer their services here. Given how tough the economy is, this could be popular. Thoughts?

I have to agree with Sweetmustanggirl about the dating bit on this site. That could really open up one huge can of worms here. I've made some great friends on this site, don't get me wrong, but being an internet site, and the net being what it is, that's probably a stone better left unturned.

I will say, I do like the other ideas.

my .02 - i think we should impose a post limit or some type of membership criteria before one could post on this section... to maybe eliminate spamming... and should be moderated as well...

wyckdvixen, I agree completely for both the job board and the business classifieds posting on these would be limited to admins, moderators, super-mods, sponsors and MMS gold members. Yes, it would have to be moderated as well. I don't think any of us want get rich quick artists or adult video operators fishing for actors / actresses here. I appreciate the feedback.

Hey well i do opine that all the other links are good to post and it helps a lot
in networking but this dating idea is not a nice one .it can lead to fulfilling some other purpose then this mustang forum
