Default Are Throttle Bodies worth buying

Hey,

I dont have much money to spend, but wanted to buy a performance part for my stang. I was looking at the BBK throttle body and wondering if it was worth the money. How will it benifit my stang and has anyone gotten it and noticed a difference, honestly. My mustang is an 06 gt, with k&n air intake, and flowmaster exhuast.

In general, no they're not worth it on a stock to near stock car, and even on heavily modified cars the gains are not very impressive. I'd spend the money on a tuner, or something along those lines, depending on how much money you have, you could even invest in some gears (gears are cheap, install isn't). In any since, you wouldn't gain much, and while my knowledge with Sn-197s is limited, I do know that on Sn-95 either the intake, or plenum has to be swapped or ported for you to take any advantage of the extra airflow.

Default thanks

Thanks,
Although i have the air intake kit, i was wondering it the TB was worth getting. So i guess i will look at another mod, thats around the same price. Maybe after i do enough other things it will be worth changing the tb.

Absolutely correct, jthorn9! You'll be much better served by purchasing 4.10's (more for fun..)! Even getting a new X-pipe, H-pipe...anything that sounds great and gets the air flowing! Make the car more fun, how about a short throw shifter?
For under $1,000, you can make your car 'even more fun to drive' than it is already

Default throttlebody

When ready that is a good mod from bbk. But not one of the best bang for the buck add-ons. Maybe next get a cold air and tuner instead of the k+n drop-in. This is a 38 rwhp and 30lbs. of torque increase in our steeda cold-air. From there wake up the car with some 373 or 410 gears. those have always been the best mods for these cars. working at steeda I see it all..

I would go with gears first (at least a 4:10) to get that heavy car moving. You will at least feel the difference with this. Is your car a 5-speed or auto?
