On the dash in the Instrument cluster, the airbag sensor malfunction light has been flickering on and off and random intervals and now on solid. Going to call the dealer tomorrow...is this common??
I noticed that the manual says it's a sensor malfunction light...
Here is the picture of which light...
Basically it can be triggered by a number of things...definately best to have the dealer look at it.
It could also be caused by the driver's side power seat connector being loose...but you'd know if that was the case if you adjust your seat. There is a certain amount of electrical resistance that needs to be in circuit and if that changes the sensor will come on.
There is a ring in the steering wheel that sometimes will go bad on the S-197.. its covered but FYI when mine did this.. Ford told me that neither air bag will work when the light is on.
