I have an 05 with 17. I'm going to put 275 40 17. I guess it depends on how big you want them. I know some of the other people on here I believe have 18 and run 255 front and 285 on back. I think don't get me to lying though........LOL

I'm using 18x10s on 275/40s. No rubbing whatsoever!

On an 8in rim, 255's are generally the biggest you want to go. You could probably squeeze 265's on but the side wall would probably buldge. I would say 255's are the biggest you are going to want to go with an 8in rim

Thumbs up 2007 Shelby GT500

Factory rims and tires on the 2007 Shelby GT500 are,

Rims: 18 x 9.5

Tires: Front 255 45's
Rear 285 40's

Looks to me that you can probably get away with 295's in the rear with a 10" wide rim, maybe 305's ??? 255's up front are plenty wide to do most any job in the S-197 platform IMHO.

anything bigger then 255s on the front will prolly like to wonder and follow ruts in the road, but i would go with 275s on the rear, i have put 275s on a 8.5 rim and never had any issues
