Default Ram air hood

I want a hood scoop on my 05 Roush. Mine came with out one and I don't like bolt on scoops. If I have to have it painted and get strips for it then I'm going to place the whole hood. The blue stripes limit what hoods will work and look good. Can anyone tell me anything about any of these hoods

my personal opinion.

the ram air hoods for the 2005+ mustangs are a waste of money. People keep saying... oh functional functional... It has to be functional. So you want a hood that has an opening to let water in and destroy your coil packs and spark plugs... thats allllllll you. They create no extra horsepower and can eventually damage your motor. I'll stick with the "nonfunctional" great looking hoods.

Are you referring to hoods that just have and opening to cool the engine bay OR the ones that direct the air coming in into the intake?

FWIW, I went with the CDC Shaker hood and have had no issues with coils and plugs as of yet.
Good luck!

A properly designed ram air, or functional hood wont damage anything. If they were hazardous to anything they would never come from the factorys on sooo many vehicles....... (subarus, camaro SS and trans ams, Lancer evos........)

Ill never drive mine in the rain unless Im caught by surprise. But, a person could get some seat cushion foam or the stiffer packing box foam that is used with hardrives or other electronics and cut a "blocking plug" if they ARE caught in the rain. Fake scoops suck.

I have not experienced any such problems with my super snake hood, but you do need the complete GT500 fascia to install such a ram air hood.

I Dont know which one would allow you to use the strips in the manner that will please you but i sure wish i had the money to get a ram air hood, if its made properly it should not mess anything up under your hood
