AFAIK, the tuner should be all you need on an OBD-II car. Chips are "so" OBD-I.

With the tuner, you can basically just change the program "on the fly."

1 Are they worth it? Not in my opinion

2 how much for a half way decent one? $299 from American Muscle

3 how much horsepower would i actually gain? Depending on your supporting mods, and the aggressiveness of the tune, your engine size, 6-15 rwhp is a good ballpark

4 does it hurt my motor in the long run? Not as long as the tuner knows what they're doing when they pretune the chip

5 can it seriously screw up the motor or computers? See last

6 is it easy to install? Yey and nay. The priciple of the install is easy, but the tight space, and the pain of getting the ECU out of a small tight hole in the passenger side kick pannel isn't

7 does it matter what bolt ons i already have on it? Yes, this is why chips suck in my opinion. For minor bolt ons it will only have a very small effect on the tune, however start changing rear end gear ratios, tampering with the cats, or doing heads/intake/cam, FI, or fuel systems work, and the chip has to come back out and be reprogramed.

I any body can anwser these questions i would extremly appriate it

In short, get a tuner such as the SCT X CAL 2 or 3, the Diablo Predator, or the Sniper system.

I had to take my chip out after just an intake and mass-air meter change. So get the tuner.
