Exclamation Pinion stuck

So im doing a gear swap into some 3.73s in my 00 v6 mustang and i have every thing is going good except for the pinion. it is stuck in the housing and we cant get it out yet. we have heated it with a torch, wailed on it with a 5lb sledge hammer and the freakin thing wont budge, it still spins great while it is in there but just wont come out. One of the instructors had the idea of pulling the rear end out and using one of our presses to get it out. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if so how they got the pinion out. I am at my witts end with this thing, it was just supposed to be a gear swap and and is turning into a giant pain in the ass.

Not 100% sure how to get it out, but I do believe the rear has to come out. Also, pay very close attention to the shim specs when putting the rear end back on, if you're off by just a hair, kiss your rear end goodbye, this is really an install only a pro should do, not because it's hard, but because of the shim specs.
