depends on how many miles, has it been retune,(timing messed with or fuel),had a tune up lately? i ran a 100 shot on my 03 gt when it had 28,000 miles till almost 60,000 miles with no problem. i also had bottle heater and a purge. depending on what kit you buy those are the 2 main things i would spend extra on. also if your new to the gas id buy the zex kit its easy as pie to hook up and it will make your car a beast!! one thing to worry about are your stock 28 spline axles..people have broke them with just slicks on the car with a hard launch. nos+slicks=may equal broke axle. something to keep in mind.

i never made it to the track..it was more for late night fun. id get it hook it up i wouldnt go over 100 shot on a factory tune fill up with 91 or better octane gas and let the fun begin. the tune thats on your car is from a chip or hand held?? theres always a chance no matter what you perforance wise that it could damage your motor but thats a chance we take to go fast. never go to big, never use it below 2500 rpms, and when you do use it it something doesnt feel right shut it down.

just as long as you can reset it to factory seetings for the motor than id bolt the kit on and go. just dont run a shot bigger than 100 without a dyno tune. there are people getting away with 125 shot but then there are many people blowing their motors at at that setting also. ive read for every 100 horses you look at dropping a full second off you et's..good luck and if theirs anything else i can do to help let me know.

Default I know Im a month late but here is my 2 cents...

I ran a 115 shot of nitrous on my 01 Bullitt for about a year. the first 6 months were on a stock tune then I had a custom tune put on. Made 335 RWHP on the juice.. Im not a tech guy so everything Im saying is word of mouth from my MotorHead friends and the performance shop guys who helped me with everything..

Installation... Me and a friend installed my ZEX kit in about 4 hours w/ purge valve and bottle heater, which I both recommend. The purge valve keeps the line full and the heater keeps your bottle at optimum PSI.

First off.. If you have a tune take it off. I had no problem with running my intial 100 shot in my car on the stock tune. The advanced timing on the Diable tune will definitely hurt your engine. Also if you can go with a "colder" set of plugs. I forgot which ones we put in.

Second.. What type of activation are you using? Wide open throttle - WOT (the easiest) or push button (you control when it engages). I used the WOT the first few times but didnt like it. I switched to a button on the gear shift. You should only activate the nitrous above 2800 RPM..

Lastly at the track.. The WOT throttle didnt give me the control or out of the chute reaction that I wanted. With the button I could stage at 3000rpm dump it and when I hit 2nd gear I would hit it and then in 3rd as well. I ran it on street tires so I didnt have to worry about breaking anything in the rear end.

My best times at the track were 13.1 at 115 but Im not the professional shifter or driver. Mine is a daily driver that I have fun in and cant afford to break...

Hope this helps and good luck..
