Default Hi, It's Been Awhile. I got Pics

Needless to say work and preparing for exams have got the best of me these days but I still find time to work the car when I can. I ditched the carbon fiber dash kit and replaced it with trim pieces that I painted. In addition I added a pair of Saleen seats in the front. The rear set will arrive next week. To top it all off I swapped out my center console to that of the 2001-04 model years. I also installed a Saleen instrument cluster that I will post later.

Looks great. How different are the consoles? I never looked at the ones in the '99's and 2000's.

on my 99, the way the cup holder sits, everytime you go into 2nd or 4th, it basically hits anything you have sitting in there (i know i shouldn't have any drinks in the car lol). not to mention the cup holder sitting closer to the back is real shallow and basically anything you sit in there will tip over when you turn....so yeah, the cupholders to me are really pointless in my car

I paid about $227 for the console through an eBay auction. It is a bit much but the console is a much sought after item for 94-00 owners who wish to upgrade their interior. The parking brake handle was the challenge in getting everything to line up properly but once that was taken cared of the rest was easy.

The cut holders for the 01-04 are located closer to the center console compartment which decrease the chance of interference when shifting if you have a beverage in the console itself as opposed to the 98-00 model years.

Now all that's left for me to to do is to get my speedometer settings adjusted to match up with the Saleen setup as well as getting the gauges to properly light up. Come to find out that these things have a bit of an indiglo quality to them and unlike the Simco or Autometer clusters, Saleen did not use a specialized powered bulb socket that carries the wiring. You have to solder wires into the circuit board.

Chris I'm working on taking the Fundamentals in Engineering exam this fall and hopefully that grad school next January. I'm going after my MBA as well and the FE exam is the first step in becoming a licensed professional engineer in Texas. After the FE exam comes the Professional Engineer's exam and I can finally get my certificate upon passing. It's going to be a busy year.
